How Opportunity can be Recognized and Embraced
Tuesday May 17, 2022
Tuesday May 17, 2022
Here Master at Arms James Albert Keating has some very helpful suggestions about what we all really need to focus on: Opportunity. The issue of opportunity is 2 fold. There is opportunity of the mind and of social life. These are interwoven in a manner that shows us a wise human. Let's reflect on the Master at Arms thoughts as we seek and embrace opportunity.

No Planes on 911; Say bye bye to your TVs
Monday May 09, 2022
Monday May 09, 2022
Alexander Baker argues, with some plausibility, that there were no planes on 911. His argument establishes at least a .0078 probability that the 3 live shots were Not faked in real time with compositing. That means there is less than a 1% probability they were real.
Fascinating.

Abortion is a thing of Beauty, obviously

Friday May 06, 2022
Here we discuss why biological females should become pregnant and then kill their inner kid (fetus) to support the right of choice. Women need this. Sexy time is worth it. On principle. I fully support the right to choice. Especially minority kids.

The Wonders of little Moments
Sunday May 01, 2022
Sunday May 01, 2022
A simple reflection on the wonder of some, so many, every of the moments. When I walk in a grocery store I am amazed at the people, their tiny struggles, when I take the kids to the pool, so they can learn the freedom of water, I am amazed. When I saw a father with, as I did today, with his very young daughter, loving her by teaching her, kindly, how to swim, I know goodness is real. These “little amazements”, these little wonders witnessed, these wonderful moments are what we have that with them we can, directly, know what we have in the real. Our next discussion will be about love and forgiveness. These moments of clarity are quite real. Time does fall away. Don’t fall with it. Like the infinite, rise above and go with it. At least, one might so propose.

Hippie Scum and being Beaten by Police
Saturday Apr 23, 2022
Saturday Apr 23, 2022
As a younger man, I was beaten, frequently, by police. They used clubs. My main offense, besides minor drug infraction involving the Evil Weed, was a not protesting in favor of what my Dad called "mari-ja-wanna", but against the production of Nuclear Weapons. Long story short, these attempts at interference by me and a number similarly concerned citizens led to the police beating us until the trucks, painted up as "Walmart" etc. trucks, could get passed our line, sitting hand in hand, in their way. This was at a nuclear weapons production facility East of Denver Colorado. It was known as "Rocky Flats".

Definition:
noun
- A member of a counterculture originating in the United States in the 1960s, typically characterized by unconventional dress and behavior, communal or transient lifestyles, opposition to war, and liberal attitudes toward sexuality and the use of marijuana and psychedelic drugs.
- Someone who rejects the established culture, dresses casually, and advocates extreme liberalism in politics and lifestyle. Used especially of those in the late 1960's, mostly in their late teens and early twenties, who conspicuously rejected traditional culture by dressing casually, if male wore their hair long, and wore folksy or used clothing adorned with beads, headbands, and often flowers; they emphasized the importance of love and direct personal relations rather than success-oriented businesslike behavior, strove for spontaneity, sometimes lived communally, and in some cases tried to expand their consciousness by various psychological techniques such as meditation, or through the use of consciousness-altering drugs such as marijuana or LSD. By the end of the Vietnam war in the 1970's, the numbers of people living a visibly hippie lifestyle had dramatically decreased, though some people continue to develop similar views and live with the same outlook.
- A teenager who imitated the beatniks

Why nothing should exist: Thomas Ligotti and The Frolic
Saturday Apr 23, 2022
Saturday Apr 23, 2022
Hi friends,
Some have argued that nothing should exist. Thomas Ligotti is among the best of them, a gifted author. Let's give him a day in the court of the mind. And please, no suicides, even though there really is no one to kill according to Ligotti. I think we can all admit The Frolic is brilliant. But hardly worth dying for. Unless you are a little kid; then the Frolic begins...

Objective Moral Truth v. Divine Command Theory
Monday Mar 21, 2022
Monday Mar 21, 2022
Hi guys,
Here we have a simple explanation of the distinction between objective moral facts and the divine command theory (DCT). These are important, fundamental distinctions that go to the core of our existence. If the DCT is true, there is no morality if there is no God. If moral objective facts exist, God is their servant, not their creator. In the background lurks, and lurks hard, the Problem of Evil. This is fascinating.

Ethics, Religion and Introduction: The 10 Days to Death Rule
Tuesday Mar 15, 2022
Tuesday Mar 15, 2022
Hi guys!
In this episode we'll be talking about the 10 day rule. The 10 day rule is a disturbing and fascinating rule for those of us who live in a disturbing but still ethical world. In this brief discussion, which is not about the legal, I suggest a discussion based on ethics; we will figure out what we at least might think, morally, about the 10 day rule.
